 Earlier this month, the Hamilton County Heroin Coalition Task Force was named “Task Force of the Year” by Ohio NARCO, a not-for-profit law enforcement association serving Ohio’s law enforcement community. Representatives from across Ohio selected the Hamilton County Heroin Coalition Task Force based on their impact on the community, drug seizures, initiative and collaboration. Several members of the Task Force accepted the honor from both Ohio NARCO and the Ohio Task Force Commanders Association at the at the 2019 Annual Training Conference in Columbus.

“This is an award for all of law enforcement in Hamilton County,” said Investigative Commander Tom Fallon. “With every level of government engaged, this true collaboration built the foundation for us to develop innovative best practices resulting in a huge impact on our communities.” 

In 2015, the Police Chiefs Association created this Task Force to cultivate partnerships and foster innovation. Local partners include Hamilton County Commissioners, Prosecutor, Coroner, Sheriff and local police departments.  Statewide, the Task Force partners with the Ohio Organized Crime Investigations Commission out of the Attorney General Office and the Governor’s Office through Public Safety. Federally, the Task Force partners with the DEA and U.S. Attorney’s Office.

Golf Manor Police Chief and President of the Hamilton County Association of Chiefs of Police, Chris Campbell, said “We are proud of the hard work and dedication the Task Force demonstrates toward making Hamilton County a safer community.”

The Hamilton County Heroin Coalition Task Force was created by the Hamilton County Association of Chiefs of Police in 2015 and is comprised of Task Force Investigators from the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office, Cincinnati Police Department, Amberley Village Police Department, Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation, DEA and the Ohio State Highway Patrol.  The Hamilton County Heroin Coalition Task Force was created to initiate an immediate and focused investigation, to target the source dealer of the heroin which led to an overdose or death, and ultimately to prosecute the source dealer on applicable State and Federal charges.  The Task Force receives support from the local participating agencies and the Hamilton County Commissioners.   Additionally, The Task Force partners with the Hamilton County Prosecutors Office, the U.S. Attorney’s Office, the Drug Enforcement Administration, Hamilton County Coroner and the Ohio Attorney General’s Office-Ohio Organized Crime Investigations Commission.
